I have been a bankruptcy lawyer for over 20 years. Back in 2019 I realized that I wanted to do more for my clients than just help them get out of debt through bankruptcy. My goal was to help them learn to rebuild their credit after the bankruptcy and to live a better financial life. That is why I build a credit rebuilding course that I provide to all my bankruptcy clients for free. I also started a podcast called The Fresh Start For Life Podcast. However, due to some staffing issues in the firm, time became a problem and I had to stop producing episodes in August of 2019. I have been wanting to restart the show and now is the time.
However, I consulted with some smart people in the podcast industry and they recommended I rebrand the show so that the title makes it more obvious that it is a personal finance show. So, that is what I have done. As I was trying to figure out the new name of the show, I started thinking about the lessons I have learned about personal finance over the years as I have definitely had my ups and downs. As I have worked my way out of debt and started to build wealth, I realized that there are certain rules of personal finance and if you learn and follow those rules, you can achieve your financial goals. So, the new name of the show is The Golden Rules of Financial Freedom. My mission is to provide information that will help people set financial goals and then work to achieve them.
Last week we launched with the first episode. In this first episode, I talk about my financial journey and how when I was younger, I thought that I had a financial goal, but I didn’t follow that goal up with any sort of plan. Not surprisingly, I failed to achieve my goal. But I learned a great lesson and that lesson is this, a goal without a plan, is really just a wish. Below are links to episode 1.
