I am disabled. Can I discharge my student loans? | The Golden Law Group | Helping Residents & Businesses Get Financial Stability | (813) 413-8700 | http://BrandonLawyer.com | 808 Oakfield Drive, Ste A, Brandon, Florida 33511 | 9040 Town Center Pkwy, Bradenton, Florida 34202
Student loan debts may be dischargeable in bankruptcy if it is an undue hardship for you to repay the debt. Disability is one potential way to prove undue hardship in bankruptcy. However, just being disabled does not automatically qualify you for the undue hardship in bankruptcy. However, for federal student loans, if you are disabled, you may be entitled to an administrative discharge of that debt. I highly recommend you consult with a qualified attorney to discuss this matter further.
