When you file bankruptcy, and automatic stay goes into effect. The automatic stay protects you from being sued by creditors outside of bankruptcy. However, if you have done something fraudulent before you file bankruptcy, the creditor could sue you inside of bankruptcy court to allege and prove that you had committed some sort of fraud, to hopefully, in their case, make that debt not dischargeable. If that happens, your attorney will be able to help you defend that lawsuit.
